About Agate:

Agate is a very fine grained form of Quartz. It grows within volcanic lava bubbles known as geodes. Diamond saws are used to slice the Agate it is then ground to remove any imperfections then polished and dyed to enhance and display the beautiful natural banding within. Most Agate comes from Brazil. 

These agate slices come in a choice of colours that show off the banded structure of the crystal. Agates come in a wide variety of natural colours, brown, red, lilac, pink, yellow as well as black, gray and white. Agate gemstones are often dyed in a wide range of colours therefore they can be faded when exposed to sunlight for a long period of time.

These slices are thin enough to let light shine through the agate, which makes the colour glow beautifully place them in front of a window for maximum effect.
